APASA RESPONSE duty officers can model a range of different oils and chemicals at short notice including:

  • Surface oil spills
  • Surface and sub-surface releases of chemicals with variable physical properties including floaters, dissolvers and sinkers
  • Air and gas plumes after a chemical spill
  • Subsea released of oil (i.e. sunken vessels or leaking pipelines)
  • Release of chemicals from sunken or floating containers
  • Backward modelling and determination of source (where did the oil come from?)
